Honeymoon in Kalkan, Turkey, June 2011

We've been home for about two weeks now after our amazing honeymoon in Turkey, but I still feel sad about waking up to invariably grey skies instead of blue!

The above picture shows us getting muddy in the name of beauty - getting all slimy in this mud is supposed to be great for your skin...I wasn't convinced!

One of the great things about Kalkan (or bad things, depending on your point of view) was that there were lots of stray dogs running about, most of which loved to get a nice pat on the head. It was like Lady and The Tramp! Above is a dog called Mango. He was pretty cute, I would have liked to take him home.

I saw this - the ultimate dog house - while we were on a boat trip to an island off the coast of Turkey. Lucky dog who lives here eh?

This was our swimming pool area with Stu lounging next to it. Having had this experience, I think homes should now be built with compulsory swimming pools. Or at least hot tubs.

This is the view from one of the roof-top restaurants we ate at. The food was just as good as the view.

So in conclusion: Two weeks wasn't enough of Kalkan, and I can hardly wait to go back! Here's one more picture of Mango the dog, because he's so sweet:
